Somewhere in your operation there is software that never quite fit. Maybe it is a product you bought years ago and have been adapting to ever since. Maybe it is the work that lives in the gaps between the systems you already pay for, held together by spreadsheets, inboxes, and the few people who still remember how it all connects. For a long time the honest answer was to buy the closest thing on the market and shape the business around it, because building your own was too slow, too expensive, and too hard to get through a security review.
That has changed. Custom software has become fast enough to matter, sensible on cost, and ready to stand up to the same security and compliance review any enterprise system faces, which makes build or buy a real decision again instead of a foregone conclusion. Ferrite is how you build it. We create the software your business actually runs on, shaped around the way you already operate, and we get it into production far sooner than a traditional custom project would. You own what we make for you, it runs in your own cloud, and your data and your approvals stay with your team. We can move that quickly because most of the hard engineering already exists in the platform we deliver on, so we are not rebuilding the foundation every time and not skipping the parts your security and compliance teams will ask about.
Ferrite builds custom enterprise software and then looks after it once it is live. Every application we deliver is designed around how your business actually works, and it is prepared to sit inside the security and compliance framework you already answer to. Our own team does the building, your team reviews and approves what goes into production, and the finished application belongs to you.
What makes that pace possible is a platform we have already built and proven, so the work we do together goes into the part that makes your business different rather than the plumbing underneath it.
You see the work before you approve it.
We think you should be able to watch how the software gets made rather than take our word for it. These are the pieces of work that carry an application from the problem you describe to a release your team signs off on. Each one shown here is an illustrative sample, not a real customer's project.
01
The plan for your application
A plain, readable plan we call the Blueprint: the workflow, who uses it, what it does and does not cover, the systems it touches, the data, the controls, a delivery range, and the decisions worth settling before any building starts.
Illustrative sample
02
A map of every connection
A map of each place the application reaches an outside system, showing who owns the credentials, what data moves, what evidence it produces, and who keeps each connection working as those systems change.
Illustrative sample
03
The record behind each release
Everything that stands behind a single release: the original request, a test summary, the security result, a signed record of exactly what shipped, your approval, and the plan to roll it back if you ever need to.

04
The business case, worked out
A five-year comparison against your current software, built on assumptions you can see and change, covering the build, your people's time, infrastructure, ongoing care, and the changes you will want later.
Writing the software has honestly never been the hard part of a custom project. The hard part is everything an enterprise needs around it: signing people in, connecting the systems you already run, meeting your security bar, producing evidence, getting a release approved, keeping it running, and changing it later without breaking anything. Most projects build the application first and only face that machinery once they are already deep in, which is where the months tend to disappear.
We put that machinery in place before your project starts. Because the platform we build on already handles how software gets built, reviewed, deployed, governed, and kept current, the work we do together can move quickly without leaving the review and approval steps for the very end.
Fit
It fits the way you work
The software follows your actual process, your terminology, your exceptions, and the rules you have to honor. Your team stops bending the business to fit somebody else's product.
Economics
The economics make sense
We reuse the expensive foundation that most custom projects rebuild from nothing, which brings down what it costs to build, deploy, govern, and change the software over time. Your budget goes into the application itself rather than into another permanent per-seat bill.
Regulatory readiness
It is ready for review
Identity, access, encryption, audit trails, approved releases, monitoring, recovery, and the evidence your auditors ask for are already part of the foundation. Your security and compliance teams get something they can genuinely review, connect to their own tools, and govern.
Speed
It gets there sooner
Because so much is ready ahead of time, the path from an approved plan to a live release is short. The speed comes from that preparation and reuse, not from cutting corners, and your security review and your sign-off stay exactly where they belong.
Business-native software
Enterprise software should move at technology speed.
The tools your teams work with change constantly, and the market moves right along with them. A traditional custom project can spend months just standing up a team and rebuilding the same foundation that every serious application needs. By the time it finally reaches production, the systems around it and the business itself have often moved on.
We keep those expensive, reusable parts ready to go, so your project does not begin from an empty page. The effort goes into the part that is genuinely yours, the way your business actually works, while the foundation it sits on is already built and proven.
The application is yours and specific to your business, while the platform it runs on is already built, tested, and ready the day you begin.
Adaptive Software On Demand
The platform underneath the work.
Adaptive Software On Demand is the name we give the platform underneath everything we build, and it is the reason a project does not start from scratch. It gives your application a production-ready foundation, a controlled path from idea to live release, the pieces your compliance team will look for, and a sensible way to handle the changes you will want later on.
It runs in your world, not ours
Your application lives in infrastructure you control, using your own identity system, your security, your data, and your governance. It is your software running in your environment. If you would rather we hosted and operated it for you, we can do that too, and the infrastructure is billed straight through at cost.
One place where it talks to the outside
Every connection your application makes to an outside system runs through a single layer we build and maintain, which we call Core. That means credentials, permissions, data movement, logging, and each connector all sit in one governed place rather than scattered through the code, so there is one point to watch and one point to change when something outside you moves.
Core and the runtime that carries your application, which we call Frame, are ours. They are closed source, licensed to you for use with your Ferrite applications, and we keep them current.
How the work actually gets built
A defined piece of work is a Spark. Our engineers, the people we call Smiths, build and test it in a controlled workspace kept separate from anything you run in production. When it is ready and signed, it is delivered into your environment through a secure channel, and your team is the one that approves what goes live.
You get to keep or end the relationship
The ongoing service, Ferrite Care, is optional. If you end it, nothing switches off. Your application keeps running and your license stays in place for as long as you run at least one application we built.
While Care is on, your Smiths stay close to the software. They keep an eye on it, maintain the connections it relies on, ship security and compatibility updates, and include one small change each month.
The best place to start is usually the one piece of work that has quietly gone unsolved. It might be the process that lives in the space between two systems, the spreadsheet operation nobody wants to touch because too much depends on it, or the application the business keeps talking about and never quite funds. That is exactly the kind of thing we are good at.
01
Replace the spreadsheet that runs on nerve
Take the spreadsheet, the shared inbox, the drive full of versions, and the knowledge that only lives in a few people's heads, and turn all of it into one proper application. You keep everything the team knows about the process, and you lose the daily detective work of finding the number that is actually current.
02
Connect the systems you already own
Build the operating layer that has been missing between the tools you already run, whether that is your CRM, your ERP, finance, service, inventory, the warehouse, or your customer systems. Those connections live in one managed place instead of a tangle of point-to-point links that break when something changes.
03
Deliver the application that never gets funded
Build the portal, the workflow, the operating console, or the industry-specific application the business has been waiting on. Before any of it starts, we agree on a clear plan for what it is and where it stops, so there are no surprises halfway through.
04
Give AI a real job to do
Give AI a defined role inside the work, with approved access to data, clear permissions, and a record of what it did. That is what moves the good ideas out of a demo and into something your business can actually rely on.
Priced for the business case
Priced around the work you need done.
The money is usually what made building your own feel out of reach, and it is the part that has changed the most. We price a build around what it actually involves: how complex the workflow is, how many systems it touches, how sensitive the data is, what controls it has to meet, and how much ongoing support you want. The number of people who log in is not where we start, because a bigger team should not mean a bigger bill for the same software.
You make one defined investment to build and deploy the software, and then you own it.
Adding people to the business does not quietly raise the price the way a per-seat subscription does.
You take only the ongoing support the application actually needs, and nothing you do not.
If you ever decide to stop the ongoing service, the software and its license keep working, and that license stays in place for as long as you run at least one application we built for you.
You can use our ongoing care to keep the moving parts current as the outside systems your application connects to change over time.
That leaves the software room to spread to more teams and carry more of the business over time, without turning your own growth into a steadily rising bill.
Bring the application into the framework you already trust.
Your application runs in your own environment, and it connects to the systems your teams already rely on for signing people in, granting access, keeping evidence, watching for security events, managing releases, retaining records, and recovering when something goes wrong. We remain a software supplier inside your review process rather than a party you have to hand control to, and the authority over what runs in production stays firmly with your organization.
Your people sign in your way
The application works with the identity system you already use, including single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and your own roles, so nobody has to manage another set of logins.
Operates inside your control boundary
Your security team keeps its view
Logs, alerts, and evidence flow into the monitoring, audit, and incident tools your security team already watches, so the application shows up where they are already looking.
Operates inside your control boundary
You stay the one in charge
Your team approves what goes into production, owns the control framework of record, and keeps responsibility for the regulatory obligations that govern your business.
Operates inside your control boundary
What we bring to the table
We build and hand over the technical controls, the documentation, the signed history of what shipped, and the evidence your reviewers need, all shaped to fit the framework you already run.
We take on one application at a time, and every one moves through the same handful of steps. You are involved at each point that matters, and nothing reaches production without your say-so.
01
Tell us about the work
Walk us through the workflow, where it breaks, the systems involved, and what the business actually needs out of it. We call a defined piece of work like this a Spark. You get a straight answer on whether it is a good fit for us to build, including the times when it is not.
02
Agree on the plan
One of our engineers works out the plan for the application: what it does, what it will cost, what it connects to, what it has to satisfy for your controls, and how you will know it is done. You approve that plan before anyone starts building.
03
We build it and test it
We build and test the application in a controlled workspace kept well away from anything you run in production, and we connect it to your identity, your systems, your evidence tools, and your control framework as agreed.
04
You approve what goes live
Your team checks the application against the workflow, the connections, the controls, and everything you agreed it should do. Only once you have approved it does the finished, signed release move into your environment.
05
Run it, and change it when you need to
From there your team can run the application. If you want us to keep watching it and looking after it, our ongoing service, Ferrite Care, handles monitoring and maintenance inside your environment and includes one small change each month.
You are never locked in
What you own, and what stays with us.
The ongoing service is something you get to keep choosing. If you end Ferrite Care, nothing switches off. The application you own keeps running, and your license to the platform underneath it stays in place. While Care is on, the engineers who know your software stay close to it. They keep an eye on it, maintain the connections it depends on, ship security and compatibility updates, and include one small change each month.
The application we build for your business is yours. The platform it runs on, the reusable technology that made the build fast, stays ours. We license it to you for as long as you run at least one application we built, we keep it current, and its source code stays closed. That split is what lets us keep improving the platform for every client while you keep full ownership of the software that is genuinely yours.
You own what we build for your business, and we keep the platform that makes it possible, and both of those stay true whether or not you keep us on for ongoing support.
Bring us the workflow your current software keeps missing.
Tell us how the work happens today, where it breaks down, and what your enterprise needs from it. One of our engineers will read it and come back to you with an early concept for the application, a rough sense of the economics, and a straight recommendation about whether we are the right people to build it.
There is no sales gauntlet to get through, and staying with us for support is never a condition of owning what we build. You will get an honest answer, including the times when the right call is for us not to build it at all.
