Ferrite

Why Ferrite

Enterprise software moves faster when the platform is ready.

For years, building your own software was the option most companies quietly ruled out, because it was too slow to deliver, too costly to justify, and too hard to carry through a security and compliance review. That calculation has changed, and Ferrite is one of the reasons why. We are an enterprise software delivery platform, which means we bring the runtime, the integrations, the build environment, the release path, the controls, and the ongoing maintenance together before your specific application is ever built.

With that groundwork already in place, the distance between an approved workflow and working production software gets a great deal shorter. Your application still stays entirely custom, shaped around the way you actually operate, and the work simply no longer begins from an empty workshop with everything left to build.

Delivery speed

Much of the hard engineering already lives in the platform we deliver on, so we spend our time building your workflow rather than the foundation underneath it.

Custom fit

We write the plan for your application from your real workflow, your roles, and the exceptions that matter, so what we build reflects how you actually work.

Compliance integration

The controls, the evidence your reviewers will ask for, and governed releases are built in from the start, ready to enter the compliance program you already run.

Operating economics

Because the foundation is reused, more of your budget reaches the work that makes you different, and the price follows that work rather than a headcount.

The platform

Why Ferrite is a platform.

Every application we deliver is built for one specific operating model, yours, while the system we use to produce and support it is something we reuse from one engagement to the next.

That shared platform is where the speed and the consistency come from, and it also draws a clean line through the question of who owns what. We keep the platform and its intellectual property, and you own the application we build for your business.

Runtime

Frame runs the application

Frame is the piece that actually runs your application in production. It lives inside your own environment and carries the identity, access, logging, and everyday operational plumbing that every enterprise application needs but nobody wants to build again from scratch.

Integration

Core governs integrations

Core is the layer that handles the connections to your other systems. Every link to an outside system runs through it, each one with a named owner for its credentials, a recorded path for the data, and a clear record of what actually moved.

Delivery channel

Fabric carries signed releases

Fabric is the channel we use to deliver new releases from us into your environment. Everything crosses it signed, and if you ever decide to cut the connection you can, with your application carrying on without us.

Delivery system

The Forge coordinates delivery

The Forge is the workshop where an approved plan becomes a finished release. The Ferrite engineers assigned to your account, whom we call Smiths, do the building and testing on the Anvil, a controlled workspace where every change is put through its paces before it ever ships to you.

Custom fit

Built around the operating model.

Your operating model holds years of decisions, hard-won exceptions, controls, and knowledge that mostly lives in your people's heads. Standardized software tends to trim all of that detail away until your workflow has been reshaped to fit a product that was sold to everyone else too.

We start from the actual work instead. The application we build reflects your process, your vocabulary, your roles and exceptions, the systems it needs to talk to, your data, and the controls you have to answer for.

Your team spends far less of its day translating the business into the shape of someone else's product.

Operating economics

Economically viable by architecture.

Part of what once made custom software hard to justify was simply the cost, and Ferrite brings that cost down without cutting corners to do it. The reusable parts of our platform, the runtime, the integration layer, the delivery system, and the build workspace, already handle a great deal of the work that most custom projects would rebuild from nothing, including identity integration, governed delivery, security controls, observability, the evidence your reviewers need, and the changes you will want later.

That means more of your investment reaches the workflow that actually makes your business different from the next one.

Build price

Price the application around the work

The cost of the build follows the things that really drive it, your workflow, your integrations, your data, your controls, and how critical the application is, rather than a headcount. Adding more users later does not automatically set off another round of seat fees.

Ownership and license

Separate application ownership from the platform license

The build produces an application specific to your business, and that application is yours to own. We keep ownership of the reusable platform underneath it, which includes Frame, Core, Fabric, the deployment and integration components, the connectors, and the rest of the shared technology. The versions deployed for you run under an embedded-use license, and their source code is not handed over or made viewable.

That license stays active for as long as you operate at least one Ferrite application. Ferrite Care is a separate service, and it covers the ongoing attention of your Smiths, new Core releases, the integration work we cover, security and compatibility updates, and one Spark each month, a single scoped request for a change to your application.

Adoption

Let the economics improve as adoption grows

As it proves itself, the application can reach more teams, take on more work, and create more value, without every bit of that adoption turning into a larger subscription bill.

Compliance integration

Compliance work starts in the Blueprint.

On a lot of custom projects, the security, risk, compliance, and audit teams only see the application near the end of the build, and by then a basic question about controls can force expensive rework. We bring those questions forward into the Blueprint, the written plan we agree on together before any building starts.

Each application is engineered to fit into the regulatory and assurance program you already run, rather than asking you to work around it.

  • Enterprise identity
  • Role-based access
  • Encryption
  • Release approval
  • Evidence logging
  • Monitoring
  • Recovery
  • Retention
  • Customer-specific controls

We do not declare you compliant, because that is your review to run and your conclusion to reach. What regulation ready means is that the application arrives with the controls, the documentation, and the evidence interfaces your own review process will need.

Operations

Operated inside the customer boundary.

Once it is live, we can monitor, manage, patch, and keep adapting the application right inside your environment. You are the one who grants that access, applies your own policies to it, and can revoke it whenever you choose. If you would rather we host and operate it for you, we can, on infrastructure billed through at cost.

Either way, your production infrastructure, your credentials, your business data, and the final say on any release all stay under your control.

You get an operating partner who looks after the software, without ever handing over the keys to the business.

The boundary

You own the application, we license the platform, and you control the environment it runs in.

The customer

Owns the application, controls the environment

You own the application we build for your business. You also control the production infrastructure it runs on, along with identity, credentials, approvals, your data, and how it is used under regulation.

Ferrite

Owns the platform, licenses its deployed use

We own the reusable platform, which is Frame, Core, Fabric, the Forge, the Anvil, the deployment and integration components, the connectors, and the tooling we carry from one engagement to the next. The pieces deployed for you stay closed source and run under an embedded-use license.

That license continues for as long as you operate at least one Ferrite application, and it does not lapse when Care does. Ferrite Care, or an approved Spark, is what covers later Core releases, new connector versions, security updates, and compatibility work.

The contract sets all of this out in plain language, the ownership, the permitted use, the source restriction, the update rights, and the terms for ending the arrangement.

Bring us one workflow. We'll give you a direct answer.
